The chuku’s crowdfunder

On 2nd May 2019 we launched a crowdfunding campaign to support us with our first permanent site. The goal: to raise £30k in 30 days. A big goal to help us achieve a big dream. We were nervous but excited to be inviting the Chuku’s community to join us on our journey. And what a ride it was set to be. A flurry of emails, social media messages and media headlines ensued and at around 09:00 on Friday 31st May, we hit our £30,000 target and this was the moment our duo found out.

Powered by the community spirit of our chop-chat-chillers, our campaign ended on 1st June, with over 120% of our target raised. 583 individuals from across the globe had backed our campaign - from the UK to Nigeria, to America to China and the Caribbean. We had done it!
